Access all mounted devices in Parallels

Is there any chance doing this could be a security risk? I'm not 100% clear on how much access Parallels actually gets, but if a virus hits your Windows installation, could it wipe your OS X volumes with this setup?

Unless you specifically select the "read-only" checkbox in the Parallels configuration, then yes, this could definitely be a security risk. The benefit to setting up "Shares" is that you can mitigate potential damage if some malware on the Windows side decides to wipe the networked folders it has access to.
