Store application passwords and serials with the program
Sounds to me like a job for Keychain Access!
I've been using the Secure Notes feature of Keychain Access to store serial numbers and passwords for quite some time now. I also synchronize my Keychain files to my dotMac account so I can access them from any machine.
If you don't have a dotMac account you could still synchronize the file(s), or at least back them up, either manually or with any one of several synchronizing tools.
Precisely what I was going to suggest
I find that this is the best option because it keeps the serials secure and all in a single place to serve as a reminder of what you have purchased and may need to reinstall if you're moving to a new machine or doing disaster recovery. Hell, I even store my windows app serials in my keychain secure notes. :)

I use the Keychain Notes for exactly that purpose.

the same here. i even don't keep usually copies of apps/installers of shareware, as they can be downloaded again. |
