Burn with an 'unsupported' Pioneer 111D DVD writer
Authored by: rastarman on Dec 18, '06 05:31:40AM

This discussion peripherally addresses a basic compatability question that I can't figure out.

I am interested in using one of the new, cheap Lightscribe DVD burners, other than the LaCie. HP and Samsung both have burners available for less than half the price of the LaCie. My question is whether using Patchburn these drives will be functional on my B&W G3 (upgraded with Daystar G4/600).

I can burn with Toast and do Lightscribe with the 3rd party Disclabel. Will this work or should I just go for the 'official' Mac supported LaCie drive?
