Using Word to fill out PDF forms

Thank you so much for this hint! I was working to accomplish this very thing on the day this hint was posted. I got it to work in Word X (the original one; I never upgraded). Microsoft hid the watermark feature in the header (?!). You have to view header/footer and import it there, and then view page layout to see it on the page when you're typing.

I also found that by using tables on top of the watermarked pdf is a very easy way to create a simple form that can be reused. Once you get the table cells where you want them, just set the borders to none and hide the gridlines, and you have a customized form only a minute or two!
