Actually, at dict.org, I can find both "bold-faced" and "bare-faced" but not "bald-faced"...

Both bold and bare are correct, though I imagine someone can find "bald-faced" in a dictionary somewhere as well...

[So much for on-topic posts!]

And to think I almost chose to edit that phrase out ... look at the great discussion we would have missed out on had I done that ;-). At least in the dictionary I use, it appears that "bold faced lie" is completely acceptable:

bold-faced (adj): unrestrained by convention or propriety; "an audacious trick to pull"; "a barefaced hypocrite"; "the most bodacious display of tourism this side of Anaheim"- Los Angeles Times; "bold-faced lies"; "brazen arrogance"; ...

Why does this matter? Who cares if it is bald-faced or bold-faced lie. this isn't about the "osx hint", so shut up about it people
