Remove phantom keywords from images in iPhoto
Authored by: adrianm on Nov 20, '06 08:11:14AM

I had a similar issue when moving my iPhoto collection.

I had a smart album for pics tagged with keyword "Wife"

I noticed, however, that there were several pics with keyword "Wife" that didn't show up in the this smart album.

After much head scratching, I discovered that iPhoto had two keywords with the same name, but different internal ID.

I ended up having to use a small applescript to change the name of one of the keywords to "Wife2", which then appeared magically in the iPhoto UI and permitted me to reassign all the "Wife2" pics with "Wife", and finally delete the keyword "Wife2".

Dunno how this happened. Glad wife didn't spot I had two wives for a short time :-)
