One possible solution for a non-functional SuperDrive
Authored by: Frederico on Nov 09, '06 10:18:22AM

Awesome. I thought it odd that my otherwise fully functional DVR-103 (Apple OEM) suddenly could not (reliably) mount or read disks that it had burned itself, which worked perfectly elsewhere; in a rush, I used Patchburn to add support for a DVR-109 in a Firewire case, and was going to swap it for the internal on my G4-500DP, but tried this hint instead. Perfect success.

Something in either the iTunes 7.x update or one of the pre-August security updates caused this.

I wonder how many non-dead early-generation Superdrives will be needlessly replaced over this issue.
