Slipstreaming without a PC.

My problem was: how do I do this without a PC? As it turns out, I could have done it by booting in to XP from my PBG4 under VirtualPC. The instructions on Bart's page (slipstream) worked very easily.

But, note that they require a Win 2000/XP type OS -- the Win98 I've been using for years would not run the 'bcd' utility to make the ISO image. So, I actually ended up downloading the Microsoft Vista eval and using it under Parallels. Just another options.

After it created the bcd.iso file, I copied that over to the Mac and burned it using Disk Util.

The .spX file was my snag -- my first CD did not work (missing the file, asked for A:) which was a puzzler since my VPC XP already had SP2. So, now I'm trying the tip given above in a reply about just making a file with that name, and we'll see if that goes.

Sorry to be a bother so late in the game. Did anyone ever tell you how to do this?
I'm trying to us XP from VPC7 with vmware fushion.

Any ideas? I'm a new mac user and with all these posts I'm really confused.
