Multiple antenna required ?
Authored by: Gee4orce on Oct 31, '06 12:33:36AM

I'm just curious if you need to use a different antenna for each receiver ? I run my receiver off the main roof antenna, so it would be clearly impractical to have a separate antenna for a second device.

I noticed that the new dual input receivers have TWO antenna inputs - I know they can use 'antenna diversity', where they combine the signals from both antenna to get better reception. It is possible to do the opposite if you already have good reception - ie. run both receivers from a single antenna ?

You don't need to have a separate aerial on the roof. I now use a splitter that has a built in amplifier - available from most good electronics stores for about £10 to £15. This gives you two inputs that you can use with two separate EyeTV tuners.
