difference quartz/anti-alias
Authored by: serres on May 22, '02 10:11:03AM

there is of course a difference between simple (quickdraw) font anti-aliasing and the pdf-based subpixel-rendering in quartz. in quickdraw an e looks always the same, whereas with quartz every glyph looks different depending where it appears.

imagine this as rendering the whole page in an infinite resolution versus character by character edge smoothing.
