This is straight out of the help file

Sorry to be churlish, but in the help file:

"Searching your library or a playlist
You can use the search field (in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window) to quickly locate items in your library or a playlist.

To find an item in your iTunes library:
Select an item (Music or a playlist, for example) to search.
You can't search radio listings because they are not available until you connect to the Internet and retrieve them.

Click in the search field and type the text you want to find.
As you type, iTunes displays the items that contain the text you entered.

To search the Comment column, make sure it's displayed (choose View > View Options).

To see all your items again, delete the text from the search field (or press the Escape key)."
