I'm an inverted FPS gamer too, mainly because of my piloting background. That being said, I don't know how you could even want to have a set up where when you scroll backwards it would zoom the screen in. Now see, I understand scrolling a webpage could be reversed because the slider or scroller is oriented vertically....

But something that moves in and out, that I can't see reversing.

But I guess that is what makes all of unique :P

To me, inverted also makes sense. When rolling the mouse away from me, I feel like I'm pushing away, but the image gets closer. Likewise, when I'm pulling the wheel towards me, I feel like I should be getting closer, but the image goes away instead.

That is just wild! Never thought of it in that regard.

In my opinion this does not make sense because when we deal with rotation we use clock wise and counter-clock wise. The direction you think as "push" would be counter-clock wise which always spins away from you.
And the direction you think as "pull" would be clock wise which always spins towards you.

This does not make sense to me and seems to be incorrect for the way the wheel is intended. The wheel spins forward and backward. You can not push/pull a wheel. You can only turn it. A flight stick can be pushed and pulled because the flight stick does not rotate. The bottom of the stick is fixed.

Think of it that way maybe it will help you lose that habbit.
