10.4: Zoom window via control-scroll
I found a new background program called UniversalAccessApp running, so I Googled for it and found the following thread on the forums for disabling it:
http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=61454 However, since finding this hint, I tried Ctrl-Scroll with my Mighty Mouse and found it zoomed in and out. I then checked the Mouse tab but found no tick next to 'Zoom using scroll ball while holding'. I then ticked and unticked it and found that it was then actually switched off and UniversalAccessApp had disappeared. Why this is switched on by default without the option being ticked seems like a bug to me. What's even worse, is that my other Mac, an old iBook with no scroll capabilities, does not have the option to turn this off. It seems absurd that an option should be running in the background, when I haven't even connected any scroll-capable hardware. Looks like I'll have to try the forum hint or try connecting my Mighty Mouse to the iBook to see if the option is revealed in the Mouse tab. |
