Repair permissions on multiple drives in one step
I *suspect* that when you repair permissions on any drive other than the boot drive, the diskutil command will not use the /Library/Receipt folder on that other drive for the repair. It might not always be a good idea.

The Repair Disk Permissions function uses the /Library/Receipts directory on the volume being repaired.

As for the hint above, keep in mind that when SuperDuper clones a drive, all permissions are cloned, as well. This means that if you're really concerned about permissions, you can just enable the "Before copy: Repair permissions" option in SuperDuper -- this will repair permissions on the source volume before cloning it, and ensure that both the source and the target volumes have the "correct" permissions after the copy. --- |
