iTunes 7 mounts remote drives automatically
Authored by: ahoogerwerf on Sep 28, '06 08:30:07AM

Double-clicking on a song while a network share is not mounted, will get the share mounted and the song played (this is normal behavior since version 4 or 5). However, if you then take a look at iTunes>Preferences...>Advanced>iTunes Music Folder Location, it still shows you the 'default' location, i.e. ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music, NOT the network drive (because it wasn't there when iTunes started). So importing a new CD will save the songfiles in the wrong place then. Pretty annoying behavior and this did not change with version 7 for me (my music library is on a Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini connected via SMB)

Try moving the library.

I am using NFS and I can't reproduce your bug while using NFS.
