Set iTunes global view options
Authored by: DougAdams on Sep 27, '06 09:02:12AM
The AppleScript Assimilate View Options re-creates your playlists, excepting Smart Playlists and "special" playlists (Purchased, Podcasts, Party Shuffle), then deletes the old ones so all of the View Options are the same as the main library (taking advantage of the fact that new playlists acquire the library's View Options).

I will attempt to update this script to accomodate the new "Master" Libraries, however, it should work fine on regualr playlists.

Okay, so there's no way to get it to work on Smart Playlists then?

Set iTunes global view options

Ahh, but I think there is. At least with iTunes 7.0.1. If you forego individual view settings for playlist, you can reset all views. Do it like this:
• iTunes -> Preferences (all good hints starts here :-)
• In the General tab unselect "Remember view setting for each source"
• Close Preferences
Now all playlists have the same view settings. That is: all views are reset to "Cover Browser", and the windowsplitter is at the center area of the pane.

- If you choose another kind of View, then that will apply to all playlists.
- Unselect iTunes -> Preferences -> General -> "Remember view setting for each source" to make individual view adjustments.

Regards,

HNH

PS: Should this have been a new hint?
