Share iTunes 7 album art when using a shared library
Just copy the "iTunes"-folder located in ~/Library/Music to your NAS-Storage Space and replace the folder with a symbolic link to it. Since all your music is located on NAS, the library is not useful without it. Another hint would be: overlay a mount over the folder iTunes from the server containing the iTunes xml-library. Now iTunes uses the Library on the server if it is mounted, or the local library if it is not, i.e. if you have music locally. This is a trick to have multiple libraries, too.

Thx for the hint with the option-key. In that case, creating a mountpoint is overkill. Just copy your iTunes-Library to your NAS-storage and hold down the option-key while iTunes is starting and choose the iTunes-Library on the NAS-storage.

I ran into a problem that only one person can access the library at a time.. Any way around that?? |
