10.4: Show full file paths in Save As... dialogs

for those unable to grasp the hint, let me just say I tried it and I see what you mean.

BUT, I think what was unsaid and probably implied is that you need to DOUBLE-CLICK, or SELECT that folder you searched for once you return back to the list view.

you're right that the dropdown menu disappears once you type, but if you switch back to list view after your search and then DOUBLE-CLICK your find, the dropdown will reappear. Really.

Aha, I've finally figured it out.

First, it only works if you're searching for the name of a folder. If you want to find a file, whether to save your file with the same name, or just to save in the same place, tough. It doesn't matter if you're ever in column view -- it works fine if you start in list view and stay there. And you have to double click on the folder in list view to get the dropdown menu to reappear.

That is at least somewhat useful, but doesn't bear much resemblance to the original hint, as far as I can tell.

Now I'm intrigued. I didn't specify that I am searching for folders in my hint because when I do a search in "Save As..." I only get folders, not files.
