Work around non-updating Smart Playlists in iTunes 7
robg, could you explain the very last point, please? I tried the delete key on several of my smart playlists (both live updated and not), but it doesn't work... There doesn't seem to be an according menu action either. So what am I missing?

Make sure you select all the items in the playlist first (Command-A), then hit the Delete key on the keyboard -- on the US keyboard, it's two keys above the Return key, just below F12 and F13.

maybe i'm too stupid. assuming this works for any smart playlist which has a limit (with random selection) and 'live updating' set, and which, without said limit, would contain more songs, it seems it doesn't work for me. my 'delete' key works normally and since i have an american keyboard + layout there shouldn't be a problem with the mapping.
i know this feature works for party shuffle, though...

the real hint inside this hint (the delete function in smart playlists) worked as advertised for me. also i see a "delete" command in itunes' "edit" menu and in the context menu. tried them both and they work. |
