Make a SonyEricsson K510i work with iSync
I already read about this hint somewhere else, but at that time, I CHANGED an existing entry to adopt my SonyEricsson K510i... No success. I entered my SEK510i entry at my blog
Make a SonyEricsson K510i work with iSync
Editing the MetaClasses.plist is potentially a very dangerous way of attempting to add support for additional phones to iSync. It's very easy to break things in iSync doing it this way.
Apple provides a proper way for developers to add support in the way of iSync Phone Plugins. These live in the ~/Library/PhonePlugins/ folder and are automatically loaded by iSync on launch. The hack linked to above doesn't take in to account any of the specific phone features of the K510, and you'll most likely find that many fields are either truncated, missing or incorrectly transferred to the phone - in particular birthdays, notes, email addresses and web addresses. A proper, fully-working iSync plugin for the K510 (and other recent phones) is available here: http://mobile.feisar.com/phone_plugins_23.html These plugins even show the correct phone icon in the iSync window. --- |
