iTunes 7 disappointing
For all the hype, I think iTunes 7 is somewhat disappointing.
iTunes 7 disappointing
Personally, I don't find iTunes 7 disappointing.
First off, it crashed a lot. After removing some .plist files, and some third party visualizer plugins, that was gone. But that's a first on any iTunes upgradeYou can't blame Apple if third-party plugins are causing iTunes to crash. Just because the plugins didn't cause any problems on prior upgrades, doesn't mean they wouldn't in the future. If you use third-party enhancements in anything, you have to be vigilant on every upgrade. Secondly, I don't care much for the darker interface. That's just your opinion. I like it much better than the aqua style. Capitalizing the categories in the playlist is a no-noReally? Why? Do you feel like it's shouting at you? It's such a trivial detail to me. I honestly couldn't care less about it. Starting up iTunes feels like booting, it takes a lot of time to load my 5000+ songs, a lot more than previous versions.I noticed it takes maybe an extra second or two during startup, but nothing that would cause me grief. How many smart playlists do you have? If you have a lot, it could be slowing down your iTunes startup time. I have 4000+ songs and a dozen smart playlists. Then: I cannot believe that the guys from Steelskies are satisfied how Coverflow is implemented in iTunes. No full screen mode, no way to show only the covers of complete albums (with a minimum amount of tracks or even an album name), nowhere near the slick look and feel of the standalone Coverflow, with floating, pulsating covers and smooth scrolling, easy searching.Again I think this comes down to personal preference. Millions of iTunes users may have never even seen the independent CoverFlow plugin, so they may not care. Apple may implement these features in the future, or they may not. I certainly don't care. |
