Allow QuickTime 7.1.3 to handle Flash movies
Personally I haven't witnessed any conflicts between the Quicktime support for flash and the Flash™ plugin.
There is some idea that the browser will use the most recently installed plugin which supports a given format. So, it seems that re-installing the Flash™ Plugin might help. (especially on Windows) otherwise, if you can produce a URL pointing at a specific problem file, it would be of interest to all. My original problem was with older flash movies which I knew should show some sort of preview in the finder other than the Flash™ logo. This hint covers that situation and also the ability to open and export any compatible .swf files to a bitmapped movie format, for example, in a vector graphics to movie workflow situation. There are still other factors why an individual flash movie may not work in Quicktime™, however, at least Flash™ movies saved in Flash 5 or lower compatible format should display a picture. and open in QT 7.1.3. if this doesn't fix the particular problem you are experiencing, I recommend that you have a look at Apple Discussion Forums-Quicktime where many solutions and problems are being discussed at this moment. --- |
