Email Excel spreadsheets as formatted HTML pages

Be careful when saving Excel to HTML.

I work with an organisation that distributes its employee schedules through Excel as HTML. Because font substitution can take place in the recipient's browser, what occasionally occurs is that text at the right edge of a cell gets shoved over so that it is obscured by info in the adjacent cell. Sometimes this shows up as half a word, so you can guess at the rest. Sometimes it lops the extra off in a way that leaves you with no clue anything is missing.

Careful formatting choices can minimise the risk.
