Nothing personal, but he's right: second graph, second sentence: ...To create the file, I just issued the command touch .metadata_never_index from Terminal (make sure you're at the top-level of the volume, obviously). If you're using an external drive, make sure to "cd" the the correct location before issuing the "touch" command.
cd /Volume/<volumename> Use quotes around the path if there are any funky characters or spaces.
