Dude, just drag the URL by its favicon onto the currently loaded page. It'll load. I'll bet that's standard behavior for most browsers, although I can't say I've tested it everywhere. Plus, if you start to drag a URL or link by accident, drop it on the menu bar. Otherwise, it'll either paste the URL to where you dragged it or create one of those webloc files on the desktop (or that springy-looking thing in the dock). I'm surprised this isn't second-nature to everyone. ;)

By the way, that's the same way you add bookmarks in the bookmarks bar.
