a better idea is to add an alias or symlink to your Volumes folder so that ANY external drive, dvd, or folder on your HDD is accessible. :-)

Good idea ob1. I was going to ask the OP if the alias continues to work for differently labeled disks. An alias from Volumes however should indeed take care of that by allowing access to any mounts, as you've mentioned.

Yeah, I use a symlink to /Volumes and it works perfectly. Shows mounted server volumes, too, of course -- useful if you've got roommates who want to stream their vids to the living room too. :)
