Sort bookmarks into folders for a Safari speed increase
Interesting... I just put my bookmarks in a folder in the Bookmarks menu, and pages do seem to be loading faster. Would Safari be reading the top level of the menu's contents (for what reason, btw?) and not sub-folders?

I'm guessing that the issue is that Safari needs to figure out what to be able to render to screen, and it looks for: all menu items (including submenus) and all bookmark bar items (not including submenus).

Safari does have to draw the icons for each site as part of the menus. It may be checking to see if those icons have updated when you start Safari, and then checking sub-menus less frequently. |
