Quickly alphabetize Safari's bookmarks
Authored by: Norm Nager on Jun 29, '06 02:01:36PM

I use Bookdog 3.6 universal shareware, I can have it run on daily or other schedules to sort at warp speed on my Dual G5 2.0 my hundreds of folders and subfolders and, within them, all my bookmarks.

Safari is my primary browser and Firefox my secondary, so it's really handy that Bookdog sorts in some other browsers. It has a "migrate" command to move new and changed bookmarks in either direction between Safari and Firefox. I just did that now and got this report: 1853 bookmarks were copied. 1843 existing bookmarks in Firefox were deleted because they were duplicated by new bookmarks copied in from Safari."

Occasionally, I have it check for duplicates and then delete one, modify or tag them as permanently acceptable.

Bookdog also has the capability to go through one's bookmarks and verify whether they're still valid and provide options for fixing those that have been re-directed.

Respectfully, Norm
