New hint rating system in place
Authored by: olsen on Jun 26, '06 08:57:52AM

I think 5 stars are too many. It is too difficult for the average user (taking into account that we are hopefully all "over-average") to decide whether a hint is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 stars. The result is probably more accurate and helpful if we only ask: "Do you consider this hint as helpful?" - With options to answer: "Yes" and "No".
Using the current solution I believe we will soon have many many 4 and 5 star ratings and only a few 2 or 3 star ones, making it still difficult too decide which are the good ones and which the bad ones.
So if this rating system shall be a useful tool to honor very good hints and punish bad ones, we should perhaps decrease the number of options to vote for.
