What's your favorite email application?
Authored by: rsnyder on Jun 10, '06 12:18:48PM

I have tried a lot of different clients, but still love PowerMail. I use it for POP and IMAP (I am not sure why anyone would describe its IMAP support as poor). I have literally hundreds of mail rules to sort and process my mail. The tight integration with Spam Sieve is a real plus. It also integrates will with the Apple Address Book, which is a really bonus.

As a .mac user, I rely on Apple Address Book synchronization and integration to keep my contacts up to date and available on all of my machines, my LifeDrive and my cellphone.

Since Address Book is a critical application for me, the only other option is Apple Mail, and the filters on PowerMail are heads and shoulders over Mail, as is the PM search engine. Like many people, my email is my memory/diary. The ability to search and find quickly information is essential. PowerMail delivers.

The only down side is the limitation of 2GB on your messages database.

The CTM Foxtrot search engine is second to none. I would highly recommend PM to anyone who needs POP and IMAP support, high-power rules, Address Book integration, spam filtering, and a strong/fast search engine.
