Set up a video projector for better portrait mode photos

Anyone who has suceeded in connecting say a G4 Powerbook over DVI/HDMI to a
plasma screen without overscan and other effects? I've tried SwitchResX with no
success.

I run a Powerbook G4 on a Digital Projection dVIsion HD all the time using DVI
and do not have the overscan issue.

However, I also use the same projector with a GrandTec DVI to Component
adapter hooke to a Core Duo Mini and that creates a more interesting situation:
The "window" provided by the converter underscans while the desktop
overscans within the underscanned window. Follow me? I have a blue line
across the top and video junk across the bottom with a desktop that is slightly
overscanned within that box.

Go back to DVI on the laptop and everything frames fine.

DP claims their multi-thousand dollar optical DVI cable will rememdy this issue.
I'll stick with the "under $500" converter for now.
