Avoid blank iPhoto images in iMovie projects

When we edit photo in iPhoto, it will save an edited copy in iPhoto library and the original one will be save in a original folder. Due to this reason, I rather direct import the photo into iPhoto and organize all my photos using iPhoto.

Getting stuck with iPhoto

iPhoto looks nice, but I want to have the capability to easily switch apps in the future if I want to. The folder organization of pictures via iPhoto looked hard to decipher for me, so I peferred to use the alias/link method to avoid possible pain and suffering in the future. I like keeping my photos in a folder structure with yearXXXX/month/location/*.jpg which has served me well over the last four years, so I did not want to let that go after switching to Mac.
