What's even more useful: instead of pressing the option key, you can also press the menu key on the remote to get into the bootloader. This is actually a pretty useful feature: Even without a keyboard, you can select which volume to boot from. Just press the menu key after the chime, use forward/backward to select the corresponding volume and then press play to boot from that volume. Now all that's missing is a power button on the remote...

While I had seen the "use left and right on the remote to choose; play/pause to select and continue" hint elsewhere, this is the first reference I had seen to the "menu" providing the "boot into system picker" functionality.
