I think your forgot to mention that this trick works only for mac intel users, since BootCamp does not run on G4/5 machines. The rest of us with PPCs are left out. Thanks Apple! How about integrating this feature into the next version of Disk Utility?

I'm not sure if the poster of this hint actually tried installing OS X on the partition that Boot Camp creates. I tried this hint on my new MacBook, and OS X refuses to install on the partition that Boot Camp makes. During the install when it says preparing the disk, it stops and reports "There were errors installing the software"
