AutoCorrect.plist

Thanks very much for this. I'd really like to fix this about Pages, since it's such a pain to have 'may' permanently capitalized, but I'm not at all tech-savvy and having some issues.

When I open the AutoCorrect.plist file, it opens in OmniOutliner as an Untitled file. I can successfully make the 'may/May' change, but can't save the file with a plist extension. OmniOutliner says that it's only possible to save it with an .003 extension (or, alternately, with an .003 AND .plist extension). I do not know what this means so I've just left it alone!

I tried to save the file as an OmniOutliner file, later renaming it to AutoCorrect.plist and replacing the existing AutoCorrect file in Pages. The Mac warned me that changing the extension might make the new file unusable, and sure enough, it didn't work. I've replaced the original AutoCorrect.plist file so everything is back to the way it was in the beginning.

Is there any way to save the original AutoCorrect.plist file with its original extension, or a way to open it in OmniOutliner without it opening as a new file (Untitled)? Thanks for any hints!

Install Dev Tools to Edit AutoCorrect.plist

You can install the developer tools, which you can find on your system DVD. I think it is contained in its own installer package.

Once you do that, you'll have the .plist editor.
