10.4: Possibly improve Safari's speed by disabling RSS

A benefit I found of disabling the RSS feed:
On my network we run Websense, which requires a login and pass.
All_the_time.
The other day I was burning a DVD from FCP in real-time to an external burner. Well, the RSS feed from Safari popped up because Websense wanted me to log in to get the feeds. This happend while I was out for lunch, the DVD was 49 min. long. When I got back, the login window was on top of FCP (which causes FCP to stop playing since it is no longer the top level application). So I had to redo the DVD when I didn't have time to in the first place.
So yeah, I turned that RSS thing off. Forever. But only because of Websense.
