Auto-complete certain fields in Address Book
I remember that in some old version of Address Book, maybe in 10.1, autocomplete used to happen automatically as you type, similar to the way as it does in the address field of Safari. At some point this feature went away. I have missed it. I'm glad it's not completely gone, but I wish it were still automatic.
Auto-complete certain fields in Address Book
I had severe problems with the autocomplete behaviour of AddressBook. I was applying for jobs at the time, and was entering dozens of addresses for job postings. Most of them began "Department of ..." and the autocomplete engine was absolutely maddening to me. If I paused for even a moment, it would assume that I wanted the same address as I'd typed before. I didn't know how to turn off the behaviour or how to easily deflect it back to what I wanted (which should always be possible, right?). I never succeeded in finding documentation on how to use autocomplete (i.e. which keys to use to accept or reject the suggested completion), and there was no way to turn it off. |
