And after removing the offending plugin for Safari, I always venture into Applications>Microsoft Office>Office>Startup and remove the Acrobat files from each of the Excel, Powerpoint, and Word folders.

That Acrobat toolbar in MS Office doesn't seem to have a purpose other than to annoy me.

Wow thank you so much for mentioning how to get rid of the stupid acrobat toolbar...

It takes up a whole row on my 12" iBook and is just one more click that causes me to try to avoid the entire Office suite.

Once again, this is the definitive trick to get rid of Acrobat stuff in Office: in the 'Microsoft Office'/Office/Startup folder, there are 3 folders: Excel, PowerPoint, Word. In each of them you have to create a *folder* with the name of the annoying Acrobat additions. More precisely:
- in the Excel folder, create the folder "PDFMaker.xla"
- in the PowerPoint folder, create the folder "PDFMaker.ppa"
- in the Excel folder, create the folder "PDFMaker.dot"
