And after removing the offending plugin for Safari, I always venture into Applications>Microsoft Office>Office>Startup and remove the Acrobat files from each of the Excel, Powerpoint, and Word folders.

Once again, this is the definitive trick to get rid of Acrobat stuff in Office: in the 'Microsoft Office'/Office/Startup folder, there are 3 folders: Excel, PowerPoint, Word. In each of them you have to create a *folder* with the name of the annoying Acrobat additions. More precisely:

- in the Excel folder, create the folder "PDFMaker.xla"
