Make Windows Media files play on an Intel Mac

This hint does not work in Safari. The Flip4Mac plug-ins are non-functional as is its preference pane. All this is good for is to play WMV files in QT. It's just as easy to use WMP which works fine via Rosetta.

So, what good is this?

Isn't it because Flip4Mac plays newer content that WMP does not?

Oh and that for many, purging their Macs of anything from the Evil Empire is a Good Thing™ :-)

Same deal here. Just set Safari to run in Rosetta mode and WM plays fine (I use WMP9 with 10.4.5 as a previous user said). My only concern is Safari will run a lot slower in Rosetta mode so I may just revert back to having Safari launch WMP9 externally.
