Search Gmail - Quicksilver specific Trigger setup

I set it up as a WebSearch Catalog, then a trigger to search my Gmail WebSearch Catalogue.

First read this primer on triggers in Quicksilver. You wont regret it. Then install (if you don't already have it) the "Web Search Module":
  • QuickSilver - Preferences - Plug-ins.

  • Next Add a new Catalogue:
  • Quicksilver - Preferences - Catalog - + Button - QSWebSearchSource
  • Under "Source Options" tab of your new catalog, use + Button, and type in the URL field:
    http://mail.google.com/mail/?search=query&view=tl&start=0&init=1&fs=1&q=***
On the "Attributes" tab of your new catalog, change the field called "QSWebSearchSource" to something like "GmailSearchSource"

Now using what you learnt in the excellent above primer on triggers goto:
  • Quicksilver - Preferences - Triggers - + Button
  • A window pops up
  • click in "Select an Item" pane, type in your Catalog name, i.e.: GmailSearchSource
  • click in the "Action" pane and use your arrows keys to select "Search for..."
  • Press Enter

  • You now have a new trigger.

Now double click on the word "None" in the trigger column next to your new trigger. Choose yourself a hotkey. This key combo works from ANYWHERE in your OS and opens a Quicksilver search box ready to type in any word/s to search in your gmail account.

    HTH.
