Use Mail rules to make .Mac mail more POP-like
Authored by: pepi on Mar 04, '06 07:18:46AM

For whatever reason you may want to behave .Mac mail like a POP account...

If you want it to be like that, just set it up manually as a POP account. I've been doing so since it was calles iTools and it always worked like a charm.

For those of you who don't know exactly, here are the settings for .Mac popping:
Incoming Mailserver: mail.mac.com
Username: Your .Mac username without "@mac.com"
Password: obviously your password
Authentication Type: Password
SSL: YES (Tick the checkbox) (Not needed, but highly recommended)

Outgoing Mailserver: smtp.mac.com
Port: 25 (with o without SSL enabled)
Authentication Type: Password
Credentials are the same as for POP/IMAP
SSL: YES (tick the checkbox) (Not needed, but highly recommended)

Adjust deleting of downloaded messages, etc. to your liking.
