I just wanted to say that this last comment is what actually worked for me with timbuktu 8.5. Sweet! Thanks!!
(Again the command is:)
sudo '/Applications/Timbuktu Pro/Timbuktu' '/Applications/Timbuktu Pro/Timbuktu'

(Timbuktu outputs in the command line:)
Replacing existing host.
Launching /Applications/Timbuktu Pro/Timbuktu Host with bootstrap port 8707.
Waiting for host to come up.
Host came up.
Installing StartupItem or SystemLoginItem.
Installer exiting.
