Another solution (if you are running a PPC Mac at least) is to remove the Intel binary from iTunes using something like "TrimTheFat" <http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/20404>.

Ah, but if you're not on a PPC Mac, I'd think the odds are very low that you're running 10.3.9. ;)

Just to quick post to say I solved this problem the same way (although I used the built in "lipo" console command to trim the Intel code out of iTunes).
