Great tip...but...

...it's amazing that this has not been addressed yet via a firmware update. I mean, they can scrap the Menu/Backlight feature, but podcasts still can't play sequentially. [After talking to an AppleStore Genius, I understand the Menu/Backlight change, BTW.]

Any idea how to automate this, so that new editions are automatically added to the compilation?

I ran into this problem too. Now all I do is create a smartplaylist that contains rules that only show up podcasts that have never been played and that have a rating of nothing. That way, once I'm in the middle of a podcast and no longer want to listen to it I can give it a rating above 0 and it will drop out of the smart playlist. The other effect is that the playlist will play all the way through.

What do you mean, the backlight/menu feature?

What I don't get is why you can't toggle the backlight as stay-on. I like it to time out after a few seconds, but sometimes I just want to have it on all the time, like when I'm in my car and it's in the cradle.

I'm curious what the reason might be that you understood :)

Thanks,

Wout.

Well, before the recent update, holding the MENU button would toggle the backlight on and off. Now, it snaps back to the Main menu.
