This other hint also describes how to have simultaneously the pdisk partition map (so you can boot on the disk) and the fdisk partition map (so you can read it on a Windows PC).

That's right, I've been using that method to create a both a HSF+ and a MS-DOS partition that are booth bootable on their respective OS, it's great.
