I simply put an alias of the Movies folder on my external drive into my ~/movies folder.

That way you don't need to alias each and every movie.

Seems like a better way.

Yesterday I solved an issue I had with Frontrow, very related to that topic.

I have a lot of movies backed up in DVDs I have burnt. I wanted to make possible that if I inserted a DVD, I would be able to browse the files in it in Frontrow.

The alias hint given here would adress that issue, except for the disk I insert is not the same every time, so a simple alias of the disk wouldn't do.

The solution I found is to make an alias of the invisible folder /Volumes and of course put it in my ~/movies directory. What's in there is updated whenever you insert a new CD, so that's is exactly what I wanted.

Maybe some people who are in the same situation could use this trick.

Not a bad idea! I like the way you thought that one out.
