Improve Windows Media playback for $10

In theory, it should work. But in practice it takes some doing, because iTunes won't recognize WMA files as files QuickTime knows how to read. (Flip4Mac makes QuickTime start recognizing the Windows file types, and most other programs that play QuickTime will also start recognizing them, but iTunes apparently does not).

One thing that can be done is is to open the WMA in QT Pro (there are also free solutions for this sort of thing (like the command-line QTCoffee tools that my company created)) and save it as a QT Movie. iTunes will recognize that. Still, that's a pain. (Also, you'll need one of the more expensive licenses in order to convert the audio to AAC or some other iPod friendly format.)

It might be possible to hack iTunes so that it recognizes WMA files automatically when Flip4Mac WMV is installed; you could suggest such functionality to Flip4Mac; they'd probably be interested in implementing it if it can be done.
