Modify the default search engine URL in Firefox 1.5

Good hint, but I don't think it's necessary in this particular case, because www.google.com sends you to your local site anyway. For you in Australia, doesn't it go to the same place as www.google.com.au?

Here in the UK, for example, www.google.com resolves to the same IP address as our local www.google.co.uk.

Modify the default search engine URL in Firefox 1.5

For some reason, google.com doesn't resolve to google.com.au for me. (Firefox 1.5, Panther 10.39) which means that the "search pages in Australia" option is not available. This is the reason I tried the modification. Thanks Andy and others... so many ways to do things! This is why I have decided to make the switch from Safari to Firefox- it's so flexible.
