Use the iMac's built-in iSight with iMovie

Are you sure it is an usb device ??
I would say no...
If it was, i'm not sure it could work with the actual version of ichat (i mean without a few tweaks in the code). Plus photobooth... Actually i'm almost positive it is not usb. Talking of photoboot made me realize it. To use it you need a firewire camera.

OK apparently it is USB2 !! Sorry ;)
So it means that it is one more equipement that used to be in firewire in Apple machines that goes to USB 2... First the iPod, now the iSight... Some ppl are even saying that there won't be anymore FW on Macintels :(
Of course nothing official but that shows clearly a new strategy for Apple machines as far as equipement is concerned. And that's a shame !
I guess it is again for money... Don't get me wrong, i'm ok to pay less my next machine but when you know what "costs" USB compared to firewire in terms of processor ressources !! I definitely like FW much better... a few percents for FW opposed to 10 to 20% for USB...
Anyway, thx for the hint :)
