Use the iMac's built-in iSight with iMovie
Authored by: mrscienceteach on Dec 22, '05 12:24:49PM

You would actually decide NOT to buy a G5 iMac just because iMovie can't ("out of the box") record from the camera?!?! First of all, there are tons of apps that will record video from the iSight (EvoCam and QT Pro, for example). Secondly, how many uses are there for recording what you are doing in front of your Mac? Keep in mind that you can't adjust the angle of the built-in iSight very much (or zoom at all).

Don't get me wrong, I love my iMac G5, but I use the iSight for grabbing fun pics of me and my family when we're posing (using PhotoBooth) and for video chatting (iChat AV, Adium, iSpQ). Perhaps if I needed to record a video will and testament (or suicide note), I might be upset about the iMovie issue. Oh wait, I forgot about homemade porn.
